DEVEAU Muriel Coral – age 97 of Carleton, Yarmouth Co, N.S. passed away peacefully on April 18, 2017 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on May 13, 1919 in Manchester, New Hampshire she was a daughter to the late Leland St. Clair Annis and Edna (Whitehouse) Annis. Muriel was a member of the Carleton United Baptist Church and life member of the Woman’s Missionary Society. Her working career after grade 12 consisted of working at the Clothes Pin Factory, Cosmos Imperial Cotton Mill in Yarmouth and cashier at Sobeys. She then went to Whitby Ontario and worked at Croven’s Electronics before returning Yarmouth to and working at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital as a ward clerk until retirement. After retirement she made 58 quilts all by hand and what wasn’t given to family and friends was donated to the Carleton Fire Department and Yarmouth Hospital to sell tickets on. In her 90’s she made toques and mittens for the Salvation Army Christmas boxes. She is survived by her daughter Mariea (Jerry) Titus, Yarmouth; sons, Paul (Fran), Hilden N.S.; Randy (Wendy), Carleton; grandchildren, Kirk, Tara, Christopher, Erin; and great grandchildren, Madison, Brodey, Mackenzie.
